look: 4 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.75

Appearance: pours a reddish orange with a finger plus of a frothy white head that sticks around forever and leaves behind some serious lacings along the side of the glass. pretty strong clarity with just a touch of a haze

Smell: strong malty character. mix of toasted malts and sweet caramel. caramels hint at dark fruits. fairly boozy and strong smelling

Taste: opens up with a bready to toasted grain malt taste, sweetens up with caramel and toffee, hinting at the dark fruit aspect of the malts. backend has some citrusy hops and a good kick of booze.

Mouthfeel: fairly creamy, pretty heavy.

Overall: another great red from bell's but way behind others of theirs (this goes to 11 and roundhouse IRA) being most similar to roundhouse but lacking alot of the creaminess and smoothness in character that the other has.

Poured into a 16oz. snifter at the brewery.

A- Reddish-brown, hazy, light toffee head.

S- Sweet tropical notes of papaya, mango, pineapple, some pine. Some ABV coming through but nothing too distracting.

T- Similar to aroma, nice fruity notes, a good level of sweetness, some alcohol but not too much, a light lingering bitterness.

M- A bit on the heavier side of medium but not beyond what is expected for an 10% beer.

T- This is one of my favorite offerings I've had from Bell's and further proof that Bell's knows hops. Hope they keep the recipe and decide to brew it or something very similar again. It really reminded me of a higher ABV version of Roundhouse, which is another stellar Bell's hoppy offering.
