Poured with a pretty nice light brown head with the beer being extremely dark as it should be.
Smells very strong and sweet of molasses and maple syrup maybe some brown sugar as well. Some chocolate notes as well.
Very sweet on the initial sip, a lot of malt and syrupy flavors present. Almost a little too syrupy for me. I wish there was a little more bitterness throughout to balance it out. Chocolate and Java hints on the very back end as it washes down.
Mouthfeel is medium to thick and the drinkability isn't too high on this one for me due to the overwhelming sweetness for the style.
