Bottle dated 11/1/11. Poured into a tulip.
Appearance. Pitch black, with a slightly red tint when held up to the light. Pours with a huge 4 fingers of frothy brown head. Lacing is great.
Smell. Coffee and chocolate are dominant. Some roastyness and grassy and earthy hops in the distant background.
Taste. Starts out roasy with some lingering yeasty flavors. An intense sweetness builds with an equally intense chocolate flavor. Some moderate bitterness comes in to dull down the sweetness. Roasted malts join this into a sweet finish.
Mouthfeel. Very thick in body. Carbonation is moderate.
Lots of huge flavors here. Cant wait to see how this is with some age on it.
