Thanks to chonyr for this fine brew.
Deep brownish amber in colour. Half finger light tan head formed. Scantly laced, and not overly carbonated.
Fruity, smells of dark raisins over a caramel backbone. Finishes with an earthy spiciness, as well as a hint of alcohol.
This beer has a strong malt backbone with flavours of toffee and buttery caramel, treacle also present. Dark fruits also present and very complementary with flavours of prunes, dates, and raisins. The finish is floral and earthy yet bitter hoppiness.
This is a rich and decadent malty brew balanced with earthy hops and alcohol. Unfortunately this beer was quite low in carbonation, and just a little more sparkle would have gone a long way to cut the almost cloying thick maltiness. The warming mouthfeel due to the alcohol was quite evident.
This is a tasty, big, decadent beer. Great way to self indulge on a cool night. Too rich for session material. Ill try this one again when the time is right, but wont be rushing out to find more soon.

Appearance has a murky reddish-brown beer with a small tan head. Retention and lacing are low.
Smells are of rich malts, brown bread, caramel, chocolate, molasses and dark fruits.
The taste has notes of oak, vanilla and molasses, plus woody hop character. It also has a tannic quality that adds some acidity and bitterness.
Mouthfeel has a lively carbonation and a medium body. The finish has flavors of dark fruit sweetness and more of the tannins that adds acidity.
Overall a nice nightcap of a beer but the tannins were a negative.
