A: Pours medium brown. Held up to the light it is a deep sap color. Two finger head. Loose lace.
S: Yeast, with coffee behind it and sweet.
T: Roasty, sweet, and a little sour. Not overwhelmingly coffee with a tart bite. Caramel malt and a noticeable yeast taste that begins to approach a Belgian style.
M: Somewhat sharply carbonated. Otherwise, smooth with a little sticky aftertaste.
For a 5.8% abv, this beer has a lot going on. Very interesting and very good. Would make for a great fall session.
