A: Aggressive pour produced a slow forming deceptively full head, but it quickly faded down to a mear cap. Light almost manages to make it through the deeply dark body.
S: Sweet roasted coffee notes are followed by a slight metallic tingle. A bit of nuttiness and chocolate can be found, but its really mostly just brewed coffee ground.
T: No surprises here after the nose, it tastes very similar to a cold cup of joe. Roasted, a little bitter and astringent in the finish, definite sweetness from the malts, and some buried dark fruit. All things that could be found in a cup of coffee.
M: A little bit more lively and thin than I'd like. I guess its good the carbonation is where it is considering the thinner body. Finish very dry as you'd expect from the bold coffee flavor.
O: This one isn't try to hide what it is, but I think it might be a little confused. As a coffee lover I am obviously drawn to strong coffee flavors. When I choose to drink a coffee stout its my way of combining my love for beer with my love for coffee. In this case I find myself wanting to finish this one off so I can open up a beer...
