Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams pint glass.
Appearance: Very dark brown with a little bit of amber red coming from the bottom. Lots of rising bubbles noticeable which is odd for a heavy stout. Big two finger tan head that has great retention and lacing.
Smell: Huge aroma of coffee beans with hints of nuts, roasted malts and a little chocolate. A little dark fruit too. Coffee dominates the aroma.
Taste: Tastes like it smells with an iced coffee flavor dominating. Also getting dark malts, chocolate, nuts, and dark fruit. A decent amount of bitterness helps remind you that this is a beer and not something from Starbucks.
Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy body with a medium carbonation. Very smooth.
Overall: A great coffee stout. Coffee flavor dominates and is very tasty, even for someone who is not much of a coffee drinker like me.
