A- poured into a snifter-opaque black with a small foamy tan head with decent retention and some short lasting lace.
S- intense aromas of dark chocolate and ground coffee, some roasted grain with a bit of nuttiness and toffee.
T- the flavor isn't quite as demensional as the aromas. Bitter coffee dominates thee palate up front with hardly any sweetness until closer to the finish when some of the chocolate flavors start to come through. The coffee is so intense, it actually finishes a bit tart in the tongue. The finish sweet-yet-dry with a coffee linger that seems to last forever.
M-thick body with medium carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and a foamy finish
O- this is one of the most coffee forward beers that I've tried. Unfortunately I think I overpowers some of the chocolaty roasted malt flavors. Still quite enjoyable and a must for those of you that like to drink your coffee dark roast and black. Coffee flavors are about as strong as a Sumatra coffee.
