Poured a very deep black. Not too viscous. Very nice tan head that compliments the color of the beer very well. The head was full and tightly concentrated with some lacing left as it went down the glass.
Smell is almost as if I am smelling espresso or a bag of coffee beans, which I think is exactly what Bell's was going for with this one.
Taste has a slight alcohol note up front that fades as it passes across the tongue where an incredible coffee flavor comes through. This beer is probably the closest I've ever come to thinking I'm drinking a cup of coffee when it is actually a beer. The aftertaste is exactly what I have in my mouth after I drink a cup of coffee. The roasted malts are a little too toasted imo and have a little burnt flavor to them.
Mouthfeel is medium at most, not quite as thick as I'd expect a stout to feel. A little coarse over the tongue too, I wish it was a little more smooth.
Drinkability is moderate, I'd definitely have another but probably wouldn't drink an entire 6-pack in one sitting. I do like that this comes in 12oz bottle instead of a bomber form as I would expect from most beers in this style.
