Rich and grainy powerful stout.
Opaque black in the glass without much head. Very aromatic in the nose; blackberry jam. A big mouthful of flavors. A hint of malt sweetness to offset the sour burnt malt and burnt oatmeal flavors. The coffee is quite evident, but reminds me too much of the bitter dreg from the old percolator. Without the coffee it might be great, but if you're a java fan you might love it this way.
This one is more like a jacked-up Irish stout than the smooth and mellow Imperial stouts and porters that are more akin to barley wines.
Serving type: on-tap
