A: Pours a dark, dark brown -- can't see through it at all with a very minimal amount of tan colored head on top. Super dark for a Dark Belgian Ale, which does make it very interesting, but there's nothing here that wows me.
S: Mostly yeasty, bready, with some fruit aromas. I can also smell some of the toastiness. There's a bit of dark cherry here. In general, I would say the smell is actually really good. It stands out for sure.
T: Taste a lot like it smells -- there's some dark cherry and fruitiness mixed with some yeasty breadiness. It's not bad -- not really my style, but I think they've done good with the taste. As good as they could do with the style anyway.
M: Really good here. Smooth and creamy. Good carbonation. Not too heavy -- probably a close-to-perfect thickness. Some chewiness that brings out the fruitiness. Best feature here.
O: This is a good brew. But, I don't think I'd buy it again because it's not my favorite style. But, props to Bell's for brewing something like this. Would love to try the bourbon barrel variety. Overall, pretty good offering.
