Poured from a bottle into an oversized wine glass.
Look – jet black, with about half a finger’s worth of light khaki-colored foam that dissipates quickly.
Smell – malty, somewhat spicy-smelling. Also a hint of a roasted/barrel-roasted quality.
Taste – definitely a deeper, darker, roasted malt kind of quality. Dark molasses or chocolate tones as well, most of which come out in the middle and middle-end of the tasting. The finish and aftertaste is marked with the roasted quality again.
Mouthfeel – pretty well-balanced, but leans a little more toward the watery side.
Overall – not a bad or bad-tasting brew at all, but not terribly intriguing, but also not at all dull.
