I tried this on tap at Quenchers Saloon in Chicago. 11oz serving into a brandy snifter for $8.
Dark brown color with red highlights when held to light. The 1-finger mocha colored head dissipated quickly, leaving a small rim on top. Lacing was good.
Wonderful smell to this! Dark fruits over dsrk chocolate and other sweet malts.
Light malty sweetness made up of caramel and vanilla. There are also chocolate and cherry flavors present. Mild hop bite in the finish. Delicious.
Velvety smooth, creamy mouthfeel, with moderate carbonation.
This is a great beer that even manages to significantly hide the 7.7% alcohol. Haven't tried it in the bottle yet, but if you get a chance to have it on tap, don't miss out.
Serving type: on-tap
