12oz bottle. Batch ID 7801--which the Bell's website will tell you was released on Jan 21, 2007. It pours an opaque motor oil color, with a head that resembles the top layer of a freshsly compressed espresso. Shows some decent lacing.
The aroma is quite toasty, roasted malt dominates. The flavor offers vanilla, chocolate, toasted--but overly charred--malt, butterscotch, and coffee with sugar and cream, and just a gentle prick of dry hops.
The mouth is exceedingly creamy, quite delicate and sweet, but not in a cloying, sugary sense. All the elments work really well together. It's very drinkable, and quite unlike any other stout I have had. Big ups to the Bell's boys.
