Split two of these on brew night with jac5084 into two pint glasses...
A: This one pours a very dark brown...I would call it black, but there is some brown/ruby around the edges when held to light. The center of this beer however is black as night. The head is very nice and bellows up from beneath to form a dark brown head that does not lace.
S: Tons and tons of cherries in various forms. Cherry puree, cherry juice, chocolate covered cherries, fresh ripe cherries. Just cherries galore. Also some bitter roast, chocolate, and a vinegary scent.
T: Wow the cherries really blow you away. Vast arrays of cherries that had a tendency to mask the other flavors this beer was offering. There was some chocolate and roast, but not much. Also not much bitterness or hops could be discerned.
Overall, a decent fruit stout from Bell's. However, if I were in the mood for one of their stouts in the future, I would go with Expedition or Kalamazoo.

Poured into a goblet. Totally opaque, deep black color. A faint beige head on the initial pour that fades to a light ring.
A slightly tangy cherry aroma. Maybe some faint sweetness as well but not much.
A very sour-like cherry flavor. A mildly bitter chocolate taste is there but not like a deep, rich stout would have. The ABv isn’t noticeable.
Thinner consistency with medium carbonation.
Not a bad brew but not a top-tier stout by any means. The cherry flavor dominates and taste slightly cough syrupy. Not bad but not great…cheers!

Poured from 12oz bottle to a stout glass. Pours black with some ruby highlights. A cocoa brown head falls quickly to a cap that never leaves. Smell is roasted malt, earthy hops, some cherry too. Taste is roasted coffee and earthiness up front. Black cherry and cocoa powder in the middle. Finishes with cherry and roast malts. Starts bitter, gets more tart throughout the sip. Finish is a bit astringent Feel is medium bodied with quick, tight carbonation. Overall, it's OK. I wouldn't go out of my way to get it again. Seems to need a bit of sweetness somewhere to balance things out.

This hit this spot with chocolate cake. I wish it was black forest cake. Great stout action, subtle cherry. Would purchase again
