Best. Pour. Ever. Comes out of the bottle a light-absorbing black / sludgy onyx with a reverse cascading head that settles to an impressive 2" dirty-moon dollop. Even an industrial lamp could not penetrate this monster.
Nose is rather reminscent of Batch 6000 when it was fresh. Take a thousand pine needles, a sprig of mint, and blend with black-strap molasses, dark cocoa, and you're halfway there. Prunes, figs, maple tree sap, wee bit of alcoholic heat.
Taste is explosively over-the-top from the get go...yet remarkably balanced too - a near impossible feat. First a soft, dark chocolate sweetness that recedes to a charred oak and cookie dough maltiness. Finishes with a twang of bitter, bitter hoppiness that karate-kicks the sack and prevents the whole package from being overzealously cloying. Warning: you WILL burp acrid, sugar-coated hop fireballs.
Mouthfeel is silky heaven, especially on the first sip.
ABSOLUTE CLASSIC. A sixer goes to my cellar for the ages. I can't wait to see what time does to this.
Might you consider this an Imperial Milk/Sweet Stout? Grab some and see for yourself. It truly does defy convention.

Thanks to Dan for sharing this bottle.
Pours pitch black with no head. Looks like moderate thickness, maybe slightly on the thin side. Tiny bit of caramel coloring at the edges.
Smell is really sweet, vanilla, cherry, milk chocolate, licorice, molasses. Definitely smells oxidized, but nice.
Taste is licorice, slight bitterness, chocolate, molasses, oxidation.
Mouthfeel is medium thickness, very slight carbonation. Slick, slightly oil.
This beer is very sweet, but tasty. I can't help but think it's past its prime, however. Would have liked to try this fresh. At this point it is frankly a bit cloying, and difficult to drink more than 4-5 ounces.
