Good Pfffttt at the release of the cap from this cellar temp (68 F) bottle.
The pour is black with ruby/garnet highlights, the bubbles exhibiting the upward cascading waterfall effect usually seen in rich well carbonated stouts and Imperial Porters; the head providing a brief magic show, with a chameleon like change from rich copper brown with amber red highlights to brown to tan before disappearing into a thin edge ring (yes that is the head I am talking about !) The bottle retains a thin residue on the bottom.
The smell is sweet coffee, chocolate, caramel and malt; enticing.
The taste is rich; full bodied chocolate covered cherries, raisins and plums mixed with coffee, toasted malt and caramel. The flavor lingers, well balanced hops emerge on the back end and play on the tongue with the residual coffee and chocolate flavors.
Mouthfeel is full, thick, viscous and smooth. No harshness, and no need to allow this beer to age to mellow the hops or meld the flavors. It is ready to drink right now, and best served at cellar temperature.
Drinkable ! Its Stout paradise !

Thanks to Dan for sharing this bottle.
Pours pitch black with no head. Looks like moderate thickness, maybe slightly on the thin side. Tiny bit of caramel coloring at the edges.
Smell is really sweet, vanilla, cherry, milk chocolate, licorice, molasses. Definitely smells oxidized, but nice.
Taste is licorice, slight bitterness, chocolate, molasses, oxidation.
Mouthfeel is medium thickness, very slight carbonation. Slick, slightly oil.
This beer is very sweet, but tasty. I can't help but think it's past its prime, however. Would have liked to try this fresh. At this point it is frankly a bit cloying, and difficult to drink more than 4-5 ounces.
