I have poured this highly anticipated beer into my Stone RIS glass ( ten fu#kin dollars for a glass). I poured slowly, and the head was minimal, but it seems to be sticking around. It is not as thick as the thickest stouts, but the surface is quite reflective. The nose is of fresh, piney hop cones. The most resiny hop aroma I have ever encountered in a big stout. That being said, I know there is a malt monster just waiting for some age to bring it out. Faint coffee detected.
The taste is raw! Piney hops, that bittersweet sharp dark roasted malt flavor, and a mouthful of coffee beans. A noticeable smoke flavor, ala Batch 5000, but not nearly as dominant, is tasted throughout. Dark chocolate, and the fiery hops. A vinous quality is buried beneath everything. As good as this is now, I must try to age some.
The mouthfeel is highly carbonated for a stout of this magnitude, and the alcohol warms my throat. Drinkability is limited by availability, better stock up fast. I am buying all I can.

Thanks to Dan for sharing this bottle.
Pours pitch black with no head. Looks like moderate thickness, maybe slightly on the thin side. Tiny bit of caramel coloring at the edges.
Smell is really sweet, vanilla, cherry, milk chocolate, licorice, molasses. Definitely smells oxidized, but nice.
Taste is licorice, slight bitterness, chocolate, molasses, oxidation.
Mouthfeel is medium thickness, very slight carbonation. Slick, slightly oil.
This beer is very sweet, but tasty. I can't help but think it's past its prime, however. Would have liked to try this fresh. At this point it is frankly a bit cloying, and difficult to drink more than 4-5 ounces.
