I had this in a snifter. Packaged on 09/18/13 bottle date.

Huge, two-inch width, mousse-like, white foam dominates this beer's cap. The lid is cratered and bubbly. The retention on this thing is great, after the first sip it has deflated maybe by half, with a good slap-dash pattern of chunky lace left behind. The light gold and copper body is alive with numerous jets of fast moving carb bubbles. Just the look of this beer has me excited.

There is a minerally effervescent scent showing up first. Wheat Love has a definite earthy twist, slightly herbal, kind of clove-y. The wheat is subdued, but may be factoring into that tangy and sweet mineral aroma.

The flavors are sweet and wheaty with just the barest of herbal notes. Vanilla and banana really lead things off, with clove peeking in behind. The finish gets just a little earthy and mineral-like while never losing the sweet malt flavors, with a kiss of light bitterness on the swallow. How good is this stuff! Not overly wheat-y, and a really balanced play of flavors.

The feel is so incredibly smooth and velvety on the tongue, really well done carbonation with a crisp feel. The banana flavor sticks around for a long time after the swallow, nothing wrong with that. And this offering sports a big medium body.

Wheat Love is an incredibly well balanced wheat beer with an outstanding array of flavors that mesh into something much greater than its individual parts. The vanilla, the banana, the clove, the earthiness: the interplay is great. There was certainly a missed opportunity in the aroma department. The mineral-effervescence and slightly tinny nose do not do this beer justice at all. I hope I can find more of this now that I finally got around to trying it!

12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 9/13/2013. Pours very hazy deep gold color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big banana, apricot, pear, orange, apple, clove, wheat, bread, pepper, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of banana, apricot, pear, apple, orange, clove, wheat, bread, pepper, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of peppery spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of banana, apricot, pear, orange, apple, wheat, bread, pepper, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast and pale malt flavors; with good robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice beer. More of a weizenbock in flavor; but has all around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast and pale malt flavors; and is very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
