Originally created for the nuptials of one of our brewers, Wedding Ale is one of the rare Bell’s brands to use spices. A subtle blend of orange peel & coriander enhance the aromatic profile of this golden ale. Brewed with a combination of wheat and pale malts, Wedding Ale is fermented with our signature house ale yeast. A light touch of European hops rounds out the beer, while a generous addition of honey adds a dry complexity rather than sweetness.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/16/019. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy medium golden/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange peel, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, honey, wheat, cracker, and white bread dough; with lighter notes of banana, bubblegum, herbal, floral, woody, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, honey, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange peel, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, honey, wheat, cracker, and white bread dough; with lighter notes of banana, bubblegum, herbal, floral, woody, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast/coriander spiciness; citrus peel, herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; and light wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, lime, orange peel, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, honey, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, banana, bubblegum, herbal, floral, woody, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, honey, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance; and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness, and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great, Minimal warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is an excellent imperial American pale wheat ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, honey, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/spicy/drying finish; nicely soft feel. Great balance between fruity/spicy American wheat yeast, spices, honey, and pale/wheat malts; with nice earthy hop presence for the style. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected of the brewery.

Served in a 16 oz (473 ml) nonic at the Eccentric Café.
A: Pours a hazy golden to amber color with a one finger, off white head, more than rim retention, and somewhat soapy (really came pattern) lacing.
S: Only very light aroma mostly of indistinct citrus (would say almost lemon-lime), coriander spice, and caramel.
T: Semidry. The flavor differ flavor the nose; subtle orange with solid coriander flavor and just the right amount of tingle-inducing bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Seemed creamy despite tingling sensation; actually a bit odd, but it worked.
O: I asked the server what he would recommend at he said that Wedding Ale was his favorite. Wow, that was a good call. We discussed the flavor profile: it has evidently been more "orangy" in some batches, but this one hit just the right balance.

On tap. Poured out a slightly, cloudy golden orange color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of coriander, orange peel and cracked wheat. Very spicy and a little boozy with citrus, wheat and caramel.
