Pours light amber with a decent head. Was expecting slightly more color saturation.
Has a nice bready note in the nose. Soft, barely apparent hop dryness in the finish. In terms of style, the general concept - toasty, bready malty flavors with just a hint of hops - is present, but the execution isn't without flaw. The body is not as full as one would expect for an Oktoberfest - it's a bit light and thin in mouthfeel, taste, and finish. However, it is a smooth drink and is approachable. In some ways it is actually perfect for the late summer weather right now: still warm but the faint feeling of "cool" setting in at night.
Not a bad beer, but not anything special. If you are new to the style, it might be a good place to start.
