A- Tawny golden pale yellow. Head that quickly dissapates and leaves no lacing.

S - Clean and fresh. Touch of grassiness.

T - Taste like your average lager.

O - Meh. Taste about like an adjunct lager. Not bad if you want something simple and want to stray away from a Bud.

On tap at The Olney Place in Penn Yan, NY.

This one pours a light straw yellow, with a small head, and just a small amount of lacing.

This smells like bready grain, some grassy hops, and mild fruity lager type yeast aroma.

This is a simple but super drinkable lager. Clean and tasty, with a nice mild bready and grainy malt backbone, with some fruity flavors, a bit of corn, and grassy hops. Not a whole lot to say about this one other than it was super tasty and drinkable.

This is crisp and light bodied, with a normal level of carbonation.

Nothing wrong with this one here- not overly complex, but wins in how tasty and drinkable it is.

Pours very pale straw color gold with a flourssh of healthy bubbles. A fat white head with excellent retention. Low pils malt aroma. Fine golden pils malt, a hint of sweetness close to graham. Hint of sulfur. Weedy herbal, hops. Peppery, saucy, pungent. Taste is smooth, breaddy pils malt with a hint of sulfur to round it out. Hops permeate the beer giving a light lemon backnote to the finish. A lighter bitterness takes hold slowly and then builds as it finishes clean.

Packaged 7/23/15.

Pours a clear dark gold with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, grass, hay, and earth aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, grass, and hay flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth and hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

Serving type: bottle.

On tap at Stag's Head in Manhattan.

App: clear yellow, 1/2inch frothyvwhite head with great retention. Big rings of lacing.

Smell: suggestion of clean water / beautiful early morning. Would love some hops or malt or even yeast along with it though.

Taste: Really really good. Slow build of herbal hops up front with some citrusy hints on the side. Dries out well bringing in a hit of fresh bread flavor. Very clean fermentation. Some apple-y tang but not much. Good pilsner malt in the finish.

Not your average "American Pale Lager." Stands up to the great things coming out of Pennsylvania and Europe.

Mouthfeel: Shines. Light side of medium bodied with a palate coating softness. Subtle IBU transitions into the moderately high dryness of the finish. Hits hard enough while remaining sublimely subtle. Excellently made.

Overall: I'm a sucker for a really well done lager like this. In fact, I'd order it over Hopslam or Two-Hearted any day.

Poured into a pilsner a dull light golden with a nice formed but quick to fade white head leaving no lace behind, bready malt and wet grain aromas mainly and not much hop presence.Flavors are malt tilted very bready and toasty with a touch of honey-like sweetness with just a light smattering of floral hop in the finish.A solid malt tilted lager here not wimpy by any means, pretty good.

A: active carnonation in this golden pour. A
thin white head is briefly present.

T: Malt sweetness followed by the hop trailer is
a nice balance of these two showcased tastes.
Surprising flavors for the lager style.

M/D: ALmost a dry finish left behind after a
smooth gulping lager.

My one and only bottle of this brew since Bell's is no longer available in Illinois. Pours into my glass a wonderfully clear goldenrod hue with plenty of active carbonation and a half inch of white foam. Aromas start out with crisp malts, pils stands out. Lightly toasted grains alongside a quite pronounced grassy, herbal hop aroma. This brew even smells refreshing.

First sip brings a crisp pilsner maltiness right off the bat that has a mild toasty flavor as well. Slightly grainy, it flows down with plenty of herbal, grassy hop tones that bring in some good bitterness to the mix. Finishes off crisp and clean. A tasty, easy drinking lager by all accounts.

Mouthfeel is smooth and easy drinking. Nice body that's not too light but not too heavy. Steady carbonation throughout. Nearly perfect IMHO. Drinkability here is quite huge. I could see myself taking down a six pack of this on a hot summer day without blinking an eye. A solid, tasty lager from Bell's that doesn't fail to impress me with its subtle nuances. If I could get it again in IL I would!!

12 oz bottle -> tulip glass

A - Pale golden straw with a solid finger of bright white head. A lot of lacing around the glass that lasts for a long time. Pretty heavily carbonated.

S - Very mild hops aroma along with some light malt (maybe a hint of wheat?) scent. Overall, a very mild pilsner-esque scent.

T - There isn't much body, but it delivers a very refreshing, clean pils/light malt flavor with some bite! The mild hops hit the front of your tongue and spices (coriander?) come later in the taste on the back end. It's very well-balanced, complex bitter flavor.

M - It's got a pretty thin, mildly oily texture that's very pleasant with the substantial carbonation

A crystal clear golden color with two fingers of bright white head...most remains with incredible web-like lacing.
A fruity, sweet caramel malt...some carbonation in the nose that distracts from the aroma a bit.
Flavor is nice...earthy, floral with a gentle sweetness and a crisp finish.
Mouthfeel is thin for the style, but finishes dry w/ no cloying factor.
Definite session beer here...not dazzling the taste buds, but plenty to keep it occupied...would love it on tap.

Appearance: gold in color, clear, moderate carbonation, frothy 1 inch head

Smell: toasted malt and grass

Taste: toasted pale malt, grass, and light hops

Mouthfeel: light bodied, high carbonation, slightly bitter.

Drinkability: True to style, but nothing to get excited about. I like how Bells usually takes ordinary styles and does something extraordinary with it. Here I do not get that same feeling. Perfectly drinkable, but nothing I will seek out again.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Pilsner glass. Bottled on May 11, 2011.

Appearance: Clear pale yellow with fairly thin white head and not much lacing. Almost a strong appearance, but the lack of head and lacing is a minor problem.

Smell: Pepper, citrus and some other light fruitiness. Quite strong hay and straw characteristics as well. Almost a great aroma, but it didn't last.

Taste: Semi-sweet fruity malt backbone that is enveloped by lemon, pepper, straw and a nice lingering bitterness. Almost a really great tasting lager but is dampened by a metallic and grainy aftertaste.

Feel: High carbonation, light body, with a crisp, mostly dry finish. A little too tingly. Almost.

Overall: This really is a beer of "almosts". This is so close to a world class lager, but just misses the mark in every category.

Very mild for a lager. Goes down very smooth with a touch of toasted tones.
