Named after our favorite coastline and a tribute to the Great Lakes region, Third Coast Beer is a crisply dry-hopped American Pale Ale. Floral and herbal hop aromas combine with a refreshing bitterness, resulting in a truly quaffable beer.

Poured from the bottle into a Gaffel Kolsch stange glass.
A deep dull and unfiltered looking apricot to tangerine orange body. Capped with a creamy top of white and meringue looking head about three fingers tall with clumpy retention. Quite unusual for a blonde ale (why do I get suckered into these), but very nice looking.
Fruity nose, with a soft yeast estery character. Hints of orange and mild sour tangerine, and faint hop indistinct light presence. Inviting, not bad not sure where this might lead.
A very unusual blonde. Large hop bitterness and acid on the finish, almost like an IPA. Light malted backbone and some chewy texture a bit, with some of the estery citrus character matching on the nose. Very noticeable hop front that hints at grapefruit quite a bit and bitter citrus rind. Large bitter punch and aftertaste on the finish. Dense with muted crispness. Lots of juicy citrus mouthfeel and quenching palate.
This is no ordinary blonde ale, and that's probably why I am enjoying it. Highly hop forward with a complimenting citrus angle of hop and yeast which works nicely.

Appearance: lots of dregs come in the last pour; nice golden, straw color; thin white head that dissipates quickly
Aroma: mostly grain; a bit of hops; not a lot going on here
Taste: very smooth and mild; starts with a quick hit of bitter; moves into a nice grain bill; ends on a little hoppiness
Mouthfeel: light-bodied; smooth; juicy
Overall Impression: not exciting or mind blowing, but good for what it is; I would buy this for someone who only drinks BMC to see what they say about it; I would drink this again, but won’t go out of my way for it

Appearance - Pours relatively clear and golden orange in color with a white, half-finger width head. Sub-par retention, resulting in a thin, broken layer of suds atop with a thing ring around the edge of the glass. No lacing.
Smell - Crackery malt aroma with hints of biscuit and a slightly floral and grassy hop bitterness sitting beneath.
Taste - Follows the nose. Real plain bready malt base with notes of floral hops coming in by mid-taste, then quickly ramping up to deliver a bitter, grassy finish.
Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with fair, bitey carbonation. Slick texture with a slightly watery but also slightly harsh finish, if that makes sense.
Overall - Wow, this thing's a relic. This is almost a hoppy blonde by today's standards. In any event, I'm not finding all that interesting, nor especially refreshing truth be told.
