Appearance: Good brown thickness and tan foam that sticks to mug. Carbonation is nice overall as well.
Smell: Mineral water and some vague hops. A fair amount of caramel malt as well. As far as Scottish ales go, this one fizzles a bit.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Initially a strong alcoholic presence with bitter hops. This beer is pretty bitter overall, but not in bad way. The aftertaste comes off a bit sour and this is unfortunately a thin beer all around.
Drinkability: Accessible to drink, since nothing is overwhelming.
Overall: Not nearly as good as Oberon.
Serving type: bottle
