Let us now sing the praises of the Roundhouse! Seriously, I loved this beer.
This pours with an intense malty caramel color. There’s hints of grapefruit and pine notes. It’s green and dank in all the right ways, with a slightly spicy peppery whisper. Each sip has this wonderful combination of grapefruit and pine with the right amount of carbonation to keep it light. Wonderful finish. Just fantastic all around. My favorite beer of the holidays.
Formerly (this is why I take notes. I forgot that I had this before. Loved it then as I love it now!):
I kept thinking about this brew long after I had it. In fact, I went back to the Eccentric Café on Oberon day of all times hoping for another pint of it. Alas, they removed it from the board. Here’s hoping it comes back—in bottle form, so I can take some with me to share and enjoy!
This pours a dark ruby-amber color. I get a thick resiny grapefruit-pine hop aroma. The flavor strikes a pleasing balance between malt and hop, with a great piney-resiny flavor that emerges. I thought this brew was simply wonderful, an all around enjoyable RedPA that raised the bar on my expectations for the style.

Don't let the Beeradvocate clasification or the appearance fool you. This is basically a red colored IPA. It may have marginally more malts than average, nonetheless, this is a hop forward beer with all of the hop aroma and flavor of a typical American IPA, or at least a hoppy APA. The quality is not typical but rather clearly above average in virtually all respects. Recommended!

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery tasting room. Pretty pretty good for the style. A very good hoppy nose. Yellow body surprisingly. Like an IPA with a good malt, and citrus edge. A little acidic. Like a 1.5X IPA in bitterness with malt backing. Above average mouthfeel.

On tap @ Bell's.
A - Medium amber colour with a small amoutn of white head.
S - Sweet caramel malts at first followed by, citrus and floral hop aromas with a good bitterness present.
T - Good balance. Sweet caramel malts that are well balanced by floral, herbal and light citrus hops. A good bitterness is present.
M - Light to medium body. Moderae caronation.
O - An extrememly well done beer that is second only to nugget nectar for the style in my experience.

On-tap at Thirsty Monk, Asheville, NC
A: The beer is slightly hazy amber in color. It poured with a quarter finger high beige head that has good retention properties and hardly died down.
S: Moderate aromas of citrusy hops are present in the nose along with hints of caramel malts.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and has hints of malty sweetness along with a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and slightly smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is really easy to drink and has an interesting combination of citrusy hops in an amber ale.
