Bottle labeled "PKGD 8/12/11" poured into a snifter
A bottom's up style pour got me a finger of off-white head that receded to a ring, a dusting and some clumps in a little over a minute. Body is an amber color with a rose tint. Has some lazy bubbles slowly making their way to the top. Some lacing noticed throughout consumption.
The first aromas are tropical citrus, I'm getting grapefruit and pineapple mainly. This fades and lets a strong pine resin smell in.
Ooh, hops. They are well balanced... between each other. I don't get much malt at all, but the pine and varied citrus hop flavors play off each other very well. Grapefruit and pine resin are the strongest flavors, but you do taste orange and hints of floral hops as well. Develops a medicinal alcohol aftertaste.
Very bitter, one for the hop heads like myself. Medium bodied, it goes down rather quickly, but there is almost no feeling from the carbonation. You get alcohol on the back end, but its not straight alcohol, its like a citrus medicinal alcohol flavor. No complaints, its good.
