Reviewed from notes.

Pours a dark shade of amber win an off white head that is several fingers deep. Nose brigs sweet caramel and toffee notes and a bit of spice. Taste is fairly sweet and bready along with a hint of spice. Medium body with a nice smoothness. Drinks well; was glad to try it.

hazy brown brew with only a collar of white to show. i know i shouldn't expect much froth from a scotch ale, but i'd like a little more than this

the aroma is slightly fruity with a slightly more apparent smoke character

flavors are darkfruity and smokey. toffee and a shadow (and no more, really) of chocolate. i think beers of this style and other of those from the UK--when replicated by US brewers--can tend to be underattenuated, which can realy doom a beer's drinkability. but this one is blessedly not too sweet. this has a second benefit of not requiring much bitterness, which always seems out of place in a scotch ale

Review from notes. Poured from tap at Eccentric Café into a clean, clear glass. I regret that I did not record the ABV for inclusion here. Perhaps some kind BA can update this listing with the correct ABV!

A Dark amber body but translucent. Minimal creamy head 3.5

S Nice scotch ale medium malt and spice presence. 4.0

T/M Great smooth, full scotch ale medium malt, grains tastes that are nicely balanced against muted hops. This is a nice, full scotch ale. 4.0

D Good drinkability as the depth, wonderful bigness of this beer creates enough interest to drink on! 4.0
