Shared in a trade by a very generous shaebs99 - thanks again!
Poured into a snifter.
A - a beautiful deep, dark brown with small areas of dark caramel coloring around the edges, which are the only places light penetrates. Just the right amount of bubbly coffee-colored head.
S - caramel, maple, molasses, definitely licorice, brown sugar, roasted malt sweetness.
T - same as the nose but with a nice hop bitterness and slight alcohol burn, which is to be expected at 12.5%.
M - very creamy, nice carbonation, great balance of malt sweetness and hop bitterness.
D - pretty damn good considering the strength, but it would be even better after mellowing out in the cellar for a year or two.
