I am a huge fan of Bell's and it stinks we can't get it in CT. I think Hopslam is my all time favorite.. The two hearted ipa is amazing.. With that being said, I also want to say this was also great.. maybe a little too fresh. was just bottled in january. thanx to smutty33 for sharing this with me. It didn't disappoint; however, I think it will be great with some age. I hope to get to re-review it later on.
A - Pours a deep red/brown color. Moderate head.. Good lacing..
S - Smell the molasses, black licorice and just a thick candy sweet smell. some smell of alcohol. not overpowering smell of that but a very highly complex smell. maybe raisins as well..
T - tastes very thick.. sweet.. I can taste the molasses and the licorice.. surprisingly do not taste the high abv at all. This is special it is a treat; however, i think age will do this great..
D - High abvs and a seriously thick powerful taste make this one a true sipper. i only split half a bottle and that was plenty for me. i could not drink a lot of these. maybe one bottle it is a little too heavy to be sessionable. this is a sipper...
