Let warm on the counter for 20 minutes after pulling from fridge. Poured into a stem-less snifter.
One finger of rich, tan head quickly dissipated to a light lacing. Beer is a reddish dark-brown color, mostly opaque. It looks as though some of the yeast has made it into my glass. The horror.
Aroma is exceptional. Licorice, dark fruit, and booze, but not overly boozy in the nose. It makes me want to drink it.
So I drink it. The flavor doesn't quite match the aroma, but it's good in its own way. I got lots of licorice flavor in the beginning, but as it warms further I get more fruits and booze. Makes me think this is what a good wine would be like if I drank wine.
Glad I got to try this a few times, courtesy of my homie Chaos. This review is of the one he gave me for house-sitting last summer. Drinking it while house-sitting again this year.
