12oz bottle at The Shores Festhaus in Daytona Beach, FL. Served in a Sam Adams Boston Lager pint glass.
A: reddish maroon body, rustic brown edges, a ring of cream head, some lacing.
S & T: light yeastiness, roasted barley, sweet caramel, toasty pale malt, toffee, raisins, brown sugar, and a mildly citric hop bite. Seems like English hopping, but I'm not sure. A fruity and malted amber ale, surprisingly balanced for this brewery.
M: resiny, almost viscous, spicy in the middle, moderate bitterness to finish. Went down easy with my Cajun Dutchman sandwich.
D: a great quaffer to pair with food. Less hopped than other ambers, though delicious in its own unique way.
