On-tap at Bell's Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo, MI...
A: Pours an amber/honey color. There is about a half finger of head that fades fairly quickly. As it drinks, there is a touch of lacing that sticks to the edges of the glass.
S: The nose is floral (roses) mixed with some spice. It's herbal, with a touch of lemony citrus. Nothing in the nose is over the top.
T: It starts out just like it smells. It's floral with a good helping of spice. There is a bitter heat that shows up in the middle and lasts all the way through till the finish. The herbal notes mix well the rose hip notes, but it has a stinging bitter in the back end.
M: I'd say this is a light to medium boded beer. It starts out full and wet, but starts to dry up as the herbal spices start to take over. It doesn't totally kill the palate, but it cuts it up a bit.
O: It's a decent beer. I wouldn't say it's all that incredible, but it's solid. I like the spicy heat and the floral qualities of this brew, but I wish it didn't had such a bitter sting in the finish. I'm happy to have tried this, but I wouldn't order it again.

This edition of the Experimental Hop series is brewed with the 556 hop, a variety that I can’t say I’ve heard of before. The spirit of adventure!
This pours with an orange brown color, a hue reminiscent of toasty bricks. There’s a mellow citrus hop aroma, with a big citrusy hop flavor up front along with citrus zests. There’s some light pineapple and mango in combination in there too. I get a lot of orange and some orange bitters along with a lingering finish that carries with it some bitterness and chew. This is a good one!
