Pours a hazy straw with a small white head and leaves very little lacing.

Taste is a little sweet up front like an orange, then coriander and bit of spice to finish it off. It's really not that bad but this just isn't the style of beer for me and it seems like an odd choice for a Winter beer.

Was a bit intrigued by this being a winter beer, with a relatively low abv compared to others of the seasonal variety. But thought it worth a try.

Pours a hazy, light orange color, with a small and quickly dissipating white bubbly head. Most notable attribute is its lightness.

Wheat dominates the smell, followed by a bit of fruit. Banana and citrus are most prominent, along with some clove. Very similar to a hefeweizen.

Taste is again mindful of a hefe. A bit stronger kick at the end, but wheat and citrus dominate along with a peppery and tangy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is pretty light and sharp. It's a bit fizzy and more watery than I'd hoped for.

Overall, this hardly seems like a traditional winter ale to me. Taste is relatively weak and somewhat lacking. Not terrible, but not terribly impressive either.

Sampled from a 12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass at 45 degrees. I'm just confused because I know it says Winter White, but with all of their coffee-infused stouts, it just sticks out like a sore thumb. My conclusion is that this is the alternative to such offerings as HopSlam, Java Stout, Expedition and Double Cream...

A - It looks like grapefruit juice in my glass...with a 2 inch foamy head that quickly dissipated, of course. Don't get that from Ocean Spray...

S - Lemon zest, grapefruits, and cloves compose the aroma.

T - Wheat-beer flavors with bananas and cloves (maybe some coriander) spell out this Winter White...it's actually pretty refreshing, since I haven't had one in a few months. Finishes crisp.

M - Light body with very little carbonation. Bananas come out a lot more throughout the glass.

D - OK, so I have to admit it's a little refreshing after drinking a different winter stout everyday. I'll keep it as an occasional winter beer, though, as to not tire myself of it. Maybe I'll try one in July and see how it tastes.
