Appearance: brownish color with accents of red. Poured with half a finger of head which was present while drinking. Above average active carbonation for the style.
Smell: Amber malts jump out right away. Syrupy thick grains on the body. Rich sweet caramel, molasses, and some light oak rounds out on the back end.
Taste: Grassy, earthy grainy front. Rich amber and caramel malts ease out the front. Grains continue to linger onto the finish, drying out the palate. Touches of sweet molasses also stick around.
Mouthfeel: Rich texture on the palate with the exception of the drying grains felt throughout. Carbonation is really well done.
Overall: Nice little Alt from Port Huron. Didn't know anything about these guys, would certainly try their other offerings in the future.

(Served in a stemmed strange)
A- This beer pours a crystal clear caramel brown with a gentle foam off-white head that fades to a thick ring.
S- The fresh full lightly roasted slightly dry malt flavor has as lagered but rich woody note to the malt.
T- The rich dry fresh malt has some light toasted malt flavor with some biscuit malt hints as it warms. The malt taste well lagered with a touch of sweetness leading to a Noble green hop note in the finish.
M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a gentle fizz that just hits the back of the throat.
O- This beer has a rich full fresh malt flavor with a strong hop support that makes this a great session beer. One of the best Alt biers I have had in a long time.

Bottle at The Barn in Baraboo, WI.
They were actually out of this beer at the brewery, so I was glad to find it here.
Served in a pint glass, quick review from written notes.
Saturated orange color, sturdy head of white foam, some spotty lace around the edges. Bright clarity and lasting skim.
Mellow malty aroma, husky grains. Cheetos?
Smooth mellow feel, medium bodied, malt forward taste. Bold specialty malts, toasty and not very bitter. An ok Alt, it's drinkable and fairly simple.

Very good example of the style (from what a person who's never been to Dusseldorf can tell, anyway). Brilliantly clear copper color with little head. Clean aroma (i.e., no yeast) with a hint of caramel. Firm bitterness throughout with a dry finish and a bit of caramel to balance things out.

Reviewed from notes.
Now this is more like it! Pours out a clear brown-tinged amber color with three fingers of cream colored foam that lasts for two minutes and leaves some attractive lacing patterns behind on the inside of the glass. Medium-light body and carbonation levels.
I get a nice mellow caramel-nutty-grassy trinity out of this one, with the fruitiness of the yeast stripped back to a bare minimum, as it ought to be in an alt. Clean, subtle, and refreshing, sessionable even! This one actually hit the target it was aiming for IMO, and I find myself wanting to go back and revisit this brew later. It's tough to find good alts around here...
