Pours a hazy yellow with slight orange tint and a snow white head that retains quite well leaving good lacing.

Nose is somewhat beire de gardeish with that dirty musty malt profile. Euro hops make their presence known mingling with belgian yeast.

Taste actually has a touch of biere de garde in it too, not alot, but some. Mostly big belgian yeast flavor, a decent hoppiness as well as an odd soapy kind of potpourri like note. Almost fruit candy. Interesting.

Mouthfeel is ideal for a saison. Slightly high carbonation and great thin drinkable viscosity, excellent.

Drinkability is pretty good, but that odd soapy character in the taste does hamper it just a bit.

Overall a pleasant saison. Certainly nothing on par with the belgian classics like dupont and fantome, but a good belgian saison nonetheless. Not sure of the aging potential for this one though, as i think some of that slight musty biere de gardeish malt profile might come out stronger, which would not be desireable. Give it a shot, nice beer.

St. Feuillien Saison has a medium, off-white head, and a hazy, brilliant (almost luminescent) orange appearance, with very noticeable and relatively large, brown chunks at the bottom. Not much lacing, here. The aroma is of pungent, spicy, horse-blanket, and musty grains. Taste is of all that with maybe white pepper and basil? Bitterness is low. Mouthfeel is medium, and St. Feuillien Saison finishes semi-dry and delicious. No complaints, only plaudits, from me.

Poured from a 11.2 oz can into a Duvell tulip. Moderate hand. AA-170 stamped on the bottom, whatever the hell that means. No date.

A: Cloudy, honey-colored body with a moderate amount of visible sediment. 1.5 fingers off-white head with ok retention. Light lacing.

S: Sweet, fruit-forward, slightly musty yeast. Apple, pear. Hay. Honey. Some grape, peach.

T: Slightly spicy, sweet yeast opens. Fruity maltiness develops and yields to some hopping bitterness on a semi-dry finish. mild alcohol presence. The aftertaste draws out with fruit, malt and a slight tang.

M: Moderate carbonation, moderate body. Less carb and more heft than your average saison.

O: If you prefer your saisons malt-forward, fruity and substantial on the palate, then you should enjoy this. Me, I'm thinking more autumn-time drinking for this one.

Prost!

Poured from an 11.2oz. can into a tulip glass.

A- Pours a light yellow-orange pretty hazy, high white head that doesn't stick around too long.

S- Typical Belgian esters of fruit and spice. Slight layers of banana, citrus, clove, some ripe tropical in there too.

T- Mostly getting the spice notes first, then the fruitiness, followed by a yeasty dry bitterness of the finish.

M- Pretty light in the the mouth.

O- A pretty good Saison, good yeast complexity, and a very affordable Belgian beer.
