Appearance - This came out a beautiful light hazy orange in color that almost seemed yellow from some angels. The cloudiness in the beer was exceptional. The head came up nicely as well making this one a real beauty shop.
Smell - This is a rich bouquet of powerful pale-colored spices, mostly cardomom, with some big pale wheat and a monster hop aroma. The hops are not Belgian but not West Coast either so that's kind of confusing, but they are big and leafy promising lots of bitterness. The core yeast, most certainly Belgian, is actually big and intense enough to stand up to the hops. Oh, this is gonna be good.
Taste - The hops were powerful at the taste as well. They aren't piney like typical West Coast hops but lighter and citrusy in a big, big way. The hop flavor is very lingering as well, staying with the drinker will after the swallow.
The yeast and spices, which most assuredly come from St Feuillien, are classic Belgian all the way. The yeast is big and powerful and stands up well to the American hops, and the spices are light in color such as white pepper and cardamom but incredibly strong.
Mouthfeel - This is full-bodied with some amazing carbonation that is tight and energetic. It provided that ultra-velvety feel against your cheeks that you come to expect from quality efforts at the style. The finish is dry, long and lingering.
Drinkability - This is probably the best collaboration ale that I've ever head. They are mostly overhyped IMO and trying to get two different breweries to work together on a winning beer is difficult in the first place. Add to that two breweries on opposite ends of the Atlantic and you have a near impossibility, yet proven total wrong here as this combination can't be beat. This is a slow drinker for sure but worth every sip.

Here's another beer that made its appearance at the Nevada home opener football tailgate in September '21. This was towards the back end of the day but still impressive.
Pours a mostly amber color, slightly bright and good clarity. 1/3" off white head. Aroma lacked the usual bspa booziness, instead there was a grain, apple orchard, brett fruitiness to it. The "spice" aspect doesn't seem to big here, thankfully. Think of this as like an imperial rayon vert at this point.
The taste was quite nice, quite complex. The mouth feel was definitely a plus with the bottle still having ample carbonation and minimal oxidation. While it looked malty, it was pretty light on its feet and the alcohol wasn't too perceptible. Still pushing a light green apple meets dry leather paradigm. Brett profile very well done, again, rayon vert feels all over this. Only spice aspect seemed to be a nicely placed rosemary indication.

On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. As a big St. Feuillien fan I found this a bit disappointing. I recall another collaberation from these 2 that I found to be very disappointing. IMO Greenflash is pretty heavy handed w/hops, but that is not the case here. It's simply I don't particularly like th flavors here.

Pours a half finger of head on a hazy light straw body.
The aroma is bright, initially grapefruit, then mango and pineapple and some candy.
The taste is candy sweet, lemon drops and mild bitter finish.
The texture is light and airy.
Outstanding beer.

Bottled 6/6/14. Poured from a 750 into a stemmed chalice, the beer is a hazy, straw gold coloring with a steady flow of carbonation throughout, and a chunky, dense, foamy, off-white head. Aromas of caramel sweetness forward, with floral highlights, a solid spice blend of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, and grains of paradise. Toasted notes, with a hops character profile of tropical fruit and cut grass. Flavors are tropical fruit forward, heavy on pineapple, apricot, and melon, all on a grassy and piney hops profile, accented by a blast of spices including cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and pepper. This all takes place on a caramel and biscuit backbone, with some subtle yeast esters highlighting here and there. Pretty dynamic, and this one has been in the bottle for a year. Smooth, light, and effervesced in mouth, with a fruity and bready aftertaste, almost like a fruitcake, with hints of bitterness still kicking around. Smooth, light, slightly lingering finish. Good beer.
