750ml bottle dated 6/6/14 poured into a tulip
A: Hazy light orange/light brown color with a one-finger head that lingers
S: Lots of malt, lots of spice, toffee and Belgian yeast. Nothing extremely distinct yet bold and complex
T: Quite malty, also spice/toffee/yeast though very little in the hops department
M: Medium-bodied, malty/a bit sweet
O: For being a 'strong pale ale', even with the Belgian designation, I had hoped for some hop influence but I couldn't find any. That being said it's tasty and, while a bit pricey, a collaboration worth a try

750 ml, bottled on 060614. Gorgeous to behold as it is at the same time beautifully clear and golden while showing a gentle carbonation and a plentiful amount of suspended particles of yeast. A billowing head that remains for days and leaves copious clumps as evidence of its presence proffers aromatic pilsner malts and heady Belgian yeast. Delightful light funk, mild spicy and peppery notes. A hint of banana and white grapes. A whiff of licorice that hides the slightest trace of alcohol. Taste is outstanding. Bready pilsner malt and light Belgian candi sugar sweetness is quickly enveloped in melon juiciness that quickly transitions to a delicate but firm American citrus IPA like hoppiness. Finish is exceptionally clean and dry with a touch of heat that barely gives notice to the amount of alcohol lurking in the glass. Feel is full and creamy while maintaining an unbelievable lightness that makes it easy to transition from sipping and appreciating to sessioning or pounding. It's just that drinkable and delicious. This is one of my favorites of the year past or the year to come. It's just that good. I'm going back to see if I can score a few more bottles of this intoxicatingly lovely liquid. Wow!

St. Feuillien Biere de l’amitie
750mL bottle into a chalice
Bottled on: 6/6/14

A: Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow, with just under 1 fingers width of bright white head, that dissipates down fairly quickly and leaves only a few very small patches of lacing. 3.75

S: Spice, but its a unique spice, not one that I typically get in the style. Something I can’t quite place, maybe tyme or rosemary? Citrus, Beligan yeast esters, lemon, its got an almost tart lactic character. Really bizarre nose that I’m not a huge fan of. 3.25

T: The taste doesn’t really convey what I got in the aroma, which I would say is a good thing. Wheat, yeast, peppery spice, sweet esters on the finish, some lemon citrus, a fair amount of bitterness. Lots going on, but it works well together. 3.75

M/D: Heavier carbonation, which is appropriate, a bit dry on the finish, medium body, ABV is very well masked, and drinkability is pretty good. 4

O: An interesting brew. I was not a fan of the aroma, liked the flavor more, but still not blown away. Glad I tried it, but not something I would likely go to again in the future. 3.5
