This beer comes out of the bottle lively but by no means fizzy, forming a very nice soft and fluffy-looking but very strong head that's pure white. It rests at two fingers and shows exemplary retention as it supports the brew for the entirety of the session. The beer itself is a cloudy bu very bright yellow-gold color with a little yeast sediment in there. Lacing sticks in some rings that develop a bit of webbing down the walls of the glass.
The malts in this beer must be pretty well-varied, as they give off both drier, more crackery notes, a bit of dough, and some not-quite toasty breads. The malts are complemented by a certain grassiness with an herbal edge and a bit of citrus pith alongside light tropical fruits sweetness before a slightly tart lemony note shows. Alongside comes an easy sort of gentle spicing, adding just a touch of white pepper and definite soft notes of clove.
There's an earthy, raw, stemmy sort of moderate hoppiness that comes out up front on the tongue, then gives way to the softer, sweeter and brighter notes. Clove rests easily underneath, while fresh lemon adds a lightly tart sort of juiciness to even the sweetness and the light bitterness. There's plenty of citrus running through all the while, working together with the gentle spicing. Herbal and dustier earthy notes only add complexity without muddling the flavor. Alcohol is warming and adds a mellow effect, well managed despite its strength.
This beer is well-carbonated, managing a smooth, creamy fluffiness without being overly filling. It's massively soft in the near-medium body, keeping from a chalkiness that seems impossible to avoid given the absolute dryness, particularly in the finish. It manages all this while maintaining a delicate crispness.

Had this awesome beer at the Town Hall Brewery bowling Ally!

It is a complex and wonderfully beer!

Green Flash has a great beer line and I am stoked they hooked up with St. Feuillien for this strong ale!

Apperance: Orangish pale and cloudy with nice lacing

Smell: Belgish yeast and biscuits

Taste: yeasty and malty and smooth with a slight sweetness and biterness

Mouthfeel: a after taste of dryness that finishes very well

Overall: a beer to enjoy for a minimum of an hour as it warms the flavors really come out, but worth starting cold

This was an amazing beer.... from the Duvel-like carbonation to the kiss of Amarillo hops, I was happy the whole time... the earthiness of the yeast provided a perfect backdrop for the bitterness here and it was a truly sublime drinking experience... a very sneaky 9.5% left me reeling after the 2nd pour... hate to see this one retired, I would purchase this regularly
