Appearance - Blown away by the head on this beer. Super, super think and creamy. Close to two fingers and piercingly bright. Very comparable to the head of Duvel or Orval. Bubbles race to the top like there's no tomorrow. For a Golden Pale Ale, this of the nicest beers I've seen in a long, long time.

Smell - Extra citrusy on the nose. Lemon, tang, orange zest, banana and bread. Slightly sour (in a good way), dry and hoppy. Clean and fresh on the nose.

Taste - Extra vanilla compared to most Belgian Pale Ales. Lots of tropical fruits notes, too. These are two very unique features to this beer compared to others in this style. Tropical fruits: mango, banana and pineapple. Also, apple, coriander, vanilla, lemon, cloves, sourdough bread, white bread, more vanilla, pilsner malt, pale malts, clear candi sugar, noble hops and tangy rich fruits.

Mouthfeel - Perfect. High carbonation with so much zap. This brings this beer to life and ties it all together. Lively and dry. Very impressive.

Overall - I will definitely be buying a handful of these. I would love to enjoy two in a row. One 330 ml bottle is just not enough. This is a beautiful beer that stays true to the style, yet stands out with its use of tropical fruit tang, while bolstering plenty of vanilla. A perfectly balanced, dry, hoppy, sugary masterpiece.

This is the same as the blonde. It smells like alcohol, it tastes like alcohol and not much else. No liquid bread feeling, no fruits or spices. Pours into a chalice. Some head that dissipates. Low carbonation. Looks between golden yellow and orange whiskey, see through. It has a tiny aroma of pears. It taste like hard liquor, bitter, cough syrup not in a good way. At room temp it smells and tastes more like hard liquor. This is not a beer

33cl bottle (17/11/2015) into a flute. Clear straw color, some bubbling, big head with good retention and heavy lacing, leaves a one cm head. Smell is fruity with yeast and spice, slightly tangy. Sweet first taste, followed by a peppery spiciness, finishing with a dry citrusy hop bitterness with pepper. No hint of alcohol. Light body with a light creamy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Overall a fresh tasting, drinkable beer. Really light feel for a 9,5% beer. Would have again.

You know, I really wish I had better access to Belgian ales that were actually made in Belgium. I hardly drink any compared to what I used to.

Pours somewhat clouded. Thin white head. Tastes quite sweet; very much so, in fact. Though it seems to be less so as the beer warms; or maybe my palate is more used to it. Mild fruits. Touch of hop spices. A nice Belgian ale.

Earthy, yeast, clove, orange, banana. M: Thick
