Style | ABV
American Double / Imperial IPA |  8.60% ABV

Availability: Limited (brewed once)

Notes/Commercial Description:
This Double IPA is created with a massive kettle charge of Australian and American hops. It opens in the glass with huge notes of ripe pineapple, pithy citrus, and dank saturated hops. As it warms it shows its depth and complexity. . . Sweet hints of malt intermingle with straight Tropicana. It has a soft but pointed bitterness and a rich, velvety mouth feel.

Poured out of the growler into a Hill wine glass. Soft pillowy white head. Hazy, burnt orange yellow color. Looks amazing. Smell is tropical fruits galore. Tangarine, mango, papaya and a biscuity malt sweetness in the back. This tastes like straight up juice, but only better. Huge orange flavor up front and finishes clean with that nice biscuit malt. Dare I say, better than Julius? I'd put this against any Hill beer.

Poured from a 750 mL growler filled today.

Appearance: Very Green pours a beautiful hazy golden color with a white head that lasts a couple of minutes. The lacing on the glass is thick and lasts throughout the duration of the beer.

Aroma: I might as well be sticking my head into the freshest tropical fruit bowl ever - tons of mango, citrus, pineapple, passionfruit. Tropical fruit heaven.

Taste: Just as the aroma indicates, the tropical and citrus flavors explode in my mouth. The beer only has a faint biscuity malt presence - the hops definitely dominate in the very best of ways. Although hop-forward, the beer only is a bit bitter. A slightly bitter - but still fruity - aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, a tiny bit chewy, and the beer seems to live for a long time after its gone.

Overall: This beer is truly greater than the sum of its parts. Every component of the beer comes together to create one of the best beers I've had in recent memory. Totally hop forward, but in the sexiest, most tropical, magical ways. The brewery limited each person to 2 750s - I really, really, really wish I could have purchased more. This is Green (the basic IPA) multiplied by a million.
