Special thanks to Matt (blckout20) for sending me a growler of this gem via trade. Cheers, Matt!

Poured from growler into Hill Farmstead tulip glass. Beautiful deep orange/amber color. Fluffy, white, inch-thick head which quickly dissipated, leaving white collar and LOTS of sticky lacing throughout. Zillions of very tiny bubbles. Nose is danky tangerine & mango citrus with hint of piney resin. On the palate, orange/mango & papaya/pineapple combos compete, as malt emerges. Alcohol is there, but barely detectable and well-masked by balanced by other goings-on. Mouthfeel is full, warm, ample, cozy, and inviting. Carbonation is subtle, but appropriate. All in all, a very favorable impression, even though the growler was 11 days old. I can't even begin to imagine how incredible this might be fresh from a tap. I hope to find out some day. Until then, add me to the long list of admirers at the altar of Julius.

was the last person in the door at Treehouse on Thursday 3/28, and got both my Treehouse Growlers filled with Julius. This was to be my first taste of this one. I've had Green last fall, which is a pretty good IPA.

Julius is better. This is certainly on the short list of great IPA's that I've had. Certainly on the East Coast. It's a bigger hop punch than Maine's Lunch shoots for, and is right there with Flower Power in the "regular IPA" group.

On top of that, the folks at the brewery couldn't be nicer and are both excited and laid back with the goings-on at the Treehouse. The location is very cool, and I hope this crew keeps making Treehouse ales for a long long time.

Thanks to jtdolla911 for this one. Enjoyed this the night before EBF Session 2.

Poured from a 750ml swingtop growler.

Looks quite nice with an orange-gold body, quite hazy and some drooping lace. Melon, mango and orange are predominant in the aroma. Flavor is very creamy, green hops, bitter but not too much, lush mango and tropical fruit, fleshy orange. Not an in your face IPA but has marked fruit flavors which make it delicious.
