BEER INFO

Brewed by:
Tree House Brewing Company
Massachusetts, United States | website

Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.30%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our IPA brewed with Northwest American hops prominently featuring Chinook! A pungent aroma gives way to a delicate beer loaded with hop flavor. Soft notes of grapefruit, pine, pineapple, and young mango give way to a dry finish making this one hard to put down. We find Sap to be one of our most complex and intricate IPAs - We love it dearly!

Purchased yesterday from Tree House. Poured from a 750ml growler.

Clear with Golden hue...very slight head.

Smells of citrus and pine. Taste is crisp and refreshing and the citrus notes continue.

Very easy to drink IPA and I am glad to finally try Tree House. Very nice folks and Sean Lawson was their hanging out.

Though many are quick to judge this one in a negative light, I find it a refreshing escape from the traditional citrus bombs that TH creates. As the name suggests, piney flavor punches the palate. The color mimicks that of all the other cloudy IPAs these guys pump out. It doesn't seem to come out very often, so I welcomed this one back to my fridge without hesitation.

I love TH, esp Julius and Haze, but feel they missed it on this one. I really question them taking this from a Christmas beer to a full time offering. After standing in line for 2 hours to get 8 beers, I expected more, especially TH. I have tried 3 of the eight, but just don't get it, my guests will have to drink the other 5

It's the best piney west coast style IPA there is. It gets flak because it's not a juice bomb like TH's other offerings. But if you put this next to Heady Topper in a blind taste test, it's not even a contest.

Poured from a growler into a glass
A: Straw yellow with excellent head retention and lacing.
S: Lots of hops and saison type flavor. Piny hops.
T: good malt, low hop flavor. Good balance overall.
M: Very full and well balanced. Flavors are consistent.
O: Great, probs would have been slightly better fresh but a great beer.

Pours a beautiful hazy golden beer with a head that dissipates into really attractive wisps. leaves a nice lacing on the glass.

Smells amazing. Really upfront piney mango aromas. You can pick up on some other citrus and grapefruit but the mango overwhelms.

The taste comes off a bit more piney than the nose. Almost with a clean minty flavor. The mango is still pretty upfront and noticeable. It has a lot of hop bitterness as expected but this is so much more balanced than most IPA's Im used to.

Mouthfeel is a medium body, perfect for the style. low-moderate carbonation which suits the style perfectly.

This is one of the best IPAs I have ever had. Really Incredible. The balance between pine and mango and between the sweetness and the bitter hops is perfect. This is a must have. This beer is really changing the way I think of an IPA.

This beer went fast at the Tree House.. They Stop giving samples because they were running low. Love the way it looks .. Grapefruit taste to it. Not as hoppy as thought it would be..

Not my favorite TH offering but still better than most. Taste of wine grapes that finished with a mild piney finish.
