Orangey body with an initial tight white head. Swampy orange and pine aroma, I believe this is mostly Chinook and it smells like it. Tastes like it smells with the heavy pine and orange rind lupelins sitting on the palate. A bit of mint and steel too. Thick body. Bitter hop oil finish.

Eh. Good but I was underrwhelmed by this offering after just having Treehouse's Green. There are a lot of equal and better Chinook centric offerings out there.

Picked this up at the brewery earlier. Poured into my Duvel tulip. And here...we...go!

A - Poured a crystal clear bright golden hue with a nice fat one finger creamy white head that faded to leave light side lacing and a creamy blanket. A Tree house Beer that doesnt have the usual Tree House brand haze that we've all come to love?! What! Also, my second pour may have had the stickiest side lacing I've seen from a regular Tree House IPA.

S - Aromas of big big fruity hops. Lots of citrus notes here, faint grapefruit rind, flashes of pineapple with big mango notes acting as the great unifier. Some pine along with nice pine bitterness towards the finish. Light malty sweetness as well.

T - Taste is just like the nose, jam packed with fruit. The balance of malts and tropical fruits...almost comes across like a candied mango thing going on. Some straightforward citrus peel (primarily orange/grapefruit), the pineapple is almost nonexistent (I swear I'm getting an almost fruity apple note in its place but it HAS to be my brain messing with me). Deeper I get a flash of passion fruit before the pine pops in towards the end adding to the bitterness. Light, light alcohol heat. Once this warms the whole candied mango thing really shines. When this really, REALLY warms its like a glass of bitter mango orange juice. Awesome

M - Mouthfeel is really nicely carbonated, super drinkable. Light alcohol heat but for the most part the hops conceal it.

O - Overall, a tasty beer brewed by Tree House. Its been fun to see how this beer has evolved from being pine heavy to now more tropical, which if I'm being honest is more up my alley. It's no Julius (or, King Julius *drool*, or Curiosity 5 ) but it'll have to do until then.

750ml flip-top purchased on 3/1 and served at 50 degrees in a Treehouse tulip on 3/3. Pours a golden-orange hue with a slightly hazy clarity and a frothy, half-inch, bright white head. Head eventually dissipates into a soapy slick with generous swaths and slashes of lacing present during the tasting. A big herbal/piney/citrusy nose is present, with the herbal/pine in the foreground and sweet citrus in the background. Taste consistent with nose; however, there is a slight candied citrus presence towards the middle, followed by rind and a light ethanol character. Mouthfeel is light-medium with a lively carbonation and a little residual alcohol heat. Overall, one of the best Chinook-based American IPAs I've had to date.

Purchased a growler at Tree House on 3-1-14, poured in a tulip on 3-2-14

A: cloudy butter yellow with a light white head that quickly dissipates. Nice patches of heavy lacing around the glass.

S: Big fruit smell up front, mostly mango and a hint of pineapple.

T: Taste is just like the nose with the addition of a slight alcohol bite on the finish. The flavors cover your tongue well but are quickly gone. Well balanced. Would have liked that taste to stick around a bit.

M: Medium mouth feel with light carbonation. It's the mouth feel you would be looking for based on the beers appearance

O: A great beer that I would purchase again and would also recommend to others.

Enjoy-
