330 ml can, from the brewery webstore. ABV is 5.4%. Very pale golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of citrus, hints of tropical fruits, also grain and dust. Thin mouthfeel. Citric flavour, hints of tropical fruits, low bitterness.

Orange golden, lightly veiled. Decent foam.
The smell is relatively fresh, with tropical notes, melon, pineapple. Fresh and elegant.
Again tropical taste, melon, pineapple, but tangerine, too.
Plesant and fresh, not heavy at all.

330ml bottle from Sainsburys:
Cloudy amber with a three centimetre head that settles as about a third of that after an aggressive pour, the surface remains covered though. The nose opens with lemon & citrus notes that are quite fresh & lively with some coriander & faintly tropical notes that hint at peach & some pineapple. The taste is definitely more tropical & fruity with more pineapple & peach alongside some mango & apricot too, although it's the peach that's probably strongest. There was some nice hip bitterness coming through with some lemon & citrus towards the end. A well carbonated & lively beer with a freshness & a dry sharp finish that went down well. The balance was good too & it's a beer I'll definitely have again if I see it.

Another quality product from the Tempest boys. Flavours of lemon and grapefruit, slight whack of spice in the background. NZ hops are evident.
Decent beer.

Pour from bottle into half pint glass
Cloudy gold with some curious dark floaters which I don't think are yeast. Not a big deal. Smells pleasant, moderate hops with usual tropical fruits but lychee in particular. Tastes as it smells with body which is a little light but would be well suited to a hot summer day. Overall a definite step up from the Pale Armadillo that I sampled recently but wouldn't rush back to be honest. Cheers!

Not sure who listed this as an English IPA, but it says right on it that it is a pale ale. With the NZ hops, it is clearly an APA in style.
Pours slightly burnt gold with very little head and no lacing. Nose is really nice and interesting. This is my first beer with south island hops from NZ. Soft quality with orange, a little tropical fruit, and maybe a touch of jasmin? Flavor comparatively dull. A bit watered down actually despite being at 5.6%. I'll have to be on the lookout for a beefier version.

33cl bottle. Clear golden with a very thin white head that dissipates quite quickly. Citrus, a bit of honey and bitterness hops. Light and refreshing.

Citrus hopped and smooth. Kiwi. Perfectly carbonated and buttered. This is a keeper. I'd drink this beast all night. Malt is smooth and balances the hops. But the hood are the star in this show. Bravo.
