Enjoyed at the brewery
A - Poured a dark brown with a thin head that fades quickly.
S - Aromas of light smoke, nice roast, faint malts and chocolate, light dark fruits.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, light smoke, nice caramel, little sweetness.
M - Mouthfeel is brightly carbonated, crisp, thin.
O - Overall this was rather underwhelming. The mouth was really thin and nose was rather flat. Unfortunate.
Serving type: on tap

Huge head with a nice upward cascade of bubbles, it forms a four-finger, foamy head. Very slow to descend (like a mound). Plenty of lace, but less than a head this size normally gives. The liquid, while dark brown, does allow some light to pass along the edges of the glass.
Clean smell with more chalk than chocolate. A hop bitterness is barely perceptible. Light milkiness.
The flavor is a blend of semisweet chocolate, milk, and weak coffee. Some alcohol warmth in the swallow. The body leans rich; the carbonation is ample. The longlasting aftertaste has a touch of chalk, but it's much lighter than the smell. The rest is like the start of the tasting.

32oz growler from the brewery in Portland
Dark amber/brown with minimal light tan head and spindly lacing, smells has sweet roasted malts, coca-cola, sarsaparilla, taste like sweet bready malts with hint so roasted malts , some hop bitterness, mild metallic bitterness at the end, light and well carbonated. Beer cola.

Tap at the brewery.
Big creamy rich head, nice lacing, pitch black beer.
Nose nice roasty malts, cocoa, char, little fluffy nougat fudge, caramel oat creamy thing, stout malts, big cocoa.
Taste rich chewy malts, little biscuit, little roasted char, mild cocoa and caramel, creamy, mild fruity notes, phenol notes, banana fig fruits, into herbal hops, little spicy hop, hint of booze. Finish herbal spicy hops, dry but sticky, biscuit toffee candy lingering.
Mouth med to fuller bod, little fluffy, nice carb.

Pint on tap at Great Lost Bear in Portland, Maine, in stemware.
Appearance: Pours black with a tan one-finger head that recedes to a crown of film swiftly. Classic porter/stout presentation.
Aroma: Some espresso, some black coffee, a whiff of rising smoke. I wish I didn't have a cold because I bet this smells great to a clearer nose.
Taste: Hubba hubba. Big, burnt black chocolate upfront with those black coffee and espresso bean notes. Smoke. Roasted malt. Some alcohol bite present behind the bitterness of chocolate notes and hops. Great!
Mouthfeel: About perfect for style.
Overall: A triumph from Bunker. So good.
