Can poured into a Sam Adams glass.

The pour yields a blood-red brew with highlights of orange and red. It is more hazy than clear and has a a thin eggshell head that covers it and stays steady, leaving rings of lacing down the glass. Steady carbonation holds.

West Sixth's Amber Ale has a textbook nose: Hints of fruit (maybe apple), some malted grain, and a nice balance of grassy/citrusy. Not bad, but more on the mild side compared to most American amber ales.

This beer is most definitely tasty and sessionable. More sweet and malty than anything, its key flavors are that of fresh grain, some fruit, and a bit of caramel sweetness. There is some hop bitterness on the finish, but it is very mild. Overall though, couldn't ask for a better amber: tasty, sessionable, and full-bodied.

For a rather low ABV, this beer has a full body with a lively feel on the palate. This makes it ideal for pairing with burgers and heavier foods, or even enjoying on its own in successions of several.

While not as bold and outstanding as the IPA, this is a good solid amber ale and stands as one of the better ones I've had so far.

Serving Type: chilled can poured into pint glass
Appearance: light brown/amber; nice frothy head
Smell: Floral
Taste: Rich ale flavor
Overall: Good every day beer from a local brewery. Supporting craft brews in Kentucky. The beer was a good addition to my fridge.

12 ounce can chilled and poured into a pint glass.

A - Pours a light amber color with a rich and long lasting head with significant lacing.

S - Floral hops with malt background.

T - Very floral with a good malt finish.

M - Good carbonation level - very neutral finish.

O - A decent enough amber ale, but a tad on the high side as far as price for what you get.
