Taste: Rich ale flavor
Overall: Good every day beer from a local brewery. Supporting craft brews in Kentucky. The beer was a good addition to my fridge.

12 ounce can chilled and poured into a pint glass.

A - Pours a light amber color with a rich and long lasting head with significant lacing.

S - Floral hops with malt background.

T - Very floral with a good malt finish.

M - Good carbonation level - very neutral finish.

O - A decent enough amber ale, but a tad on the high side as far as price for what you get.

Review taken from notes: Spring 2013.

12 oz silver and black can with orange artwork. Not a bad label and design, but definitely not spectacular. Maybe a bit too much going on yet in a simple way make for a straightforward design. But hey, what's inside matters. Lets find out. Poured into a standard American pint glass.

A - cloudy amber with tones of a rusted rose brown body color. Fluffy head on the pour quickly turns to a small ring of lace leaving a bit of stick, but nothing extreme.

S - roasted malt. Grain. Slightly Burnt yeast. A nice nutty character and a biscuity style malt backbone with some small bitter undertones.

T - sweet caramel. Grainy bread notes. A tiny hint of dark fruit paired with some Dark malts. A nutty presence underneath its amber style yeast. Nice finish.

M - medium bodied and a pretty nice texture of thickness. Not as thick as I'd prefer but still enough to make a very smooth amber ale experience. Nice flavors and a tasty finish.

O - well done from West Sixth. Glad to see Kentucky craft beer taking that next step. West Sixth are definitely producing some quality brews and this is worthy of a try from anyone. Very enjoyable.

Took a few sips from the can then poured the remainder into a tulip.

This ale pours a frothy thick egg shell head that slowly retreats to a blotchy film. The color is dark copper, resembling a dark well conditioned leather. Excellent laces retain on the glass. Not a very fragrant ale. A very sterile smell of domesticated yeast and - dare I say - aluminum can. The beer certainly picks up with the taste and feel. Very crisp and smooth. This moderate bodied ale has major notes of malts, a little hops, a little chocolate and caramel.

Overall not bad. For a low-key option that is readily available, this beer has session written all over it. The smell is disappointing but the ale comes through in the other metrics. This is great to have around for folks who don't like aggressive beers and for drinking on the regs.
