On tap at the Backcountry Brew Pub. Nitro pour.
Poured a medium copper color with a frothy off white head. Aromas of toffee, fruity, citrus and light roast. Tastes of citrus, caramel, and some fruitiness. Nice smooth body which was a product of the Nitro pour.

On nitrogen at the brewpub in Frisco.
A strong ale? Not so much...but what is it?
It's a ruby red with a nice, creamy head. It has a floral, grassy bouquet and a crisp, bitterness upfront with a malt body and a light, smooth finish. In other words, it's a great IPA and a weak (in all ways) strong ale.
Backcountry's brews have gone downhill in the last few years from what I can tell, and the brewers there have a quality recipe on their hands with Sky Chutes. A good sign. To make it an even better one, they've got to promote it for what (ie the style) that it actually is.

Had this Thanksgiving weekend
Pours ruby red 1" of white head. Perfect head retention & lacing
S: Slight hops aroma
T: Some fruittyness up front. Finishes with spicy hops & dryness
MF: Super creamy & rich, but I believe the nitro also washes out a lot flavor & taste for this beer
Drinks very easy, but this doesn't really play the style the proprietors tout it as, not enough hops
