Perfectly Golden and clear. Simple head. Smells of candy fruit flovors, not in that it is over sweet, but there is no bitter or crisp edge that an actual pear or apple has. Palate is malty, and almost grainy like grits, there is also a touch of fruitiness. There is far more flavor and maltiness here than I would expect from such a clean look. I love it, but do wish for just a touch more hops to cut that corn or grain flavor.

Far more grainy flavor that I was expecting and I love it. Great lighter session beer not devoid of some serious fruity malty flavor.

Poured from a half liter (17 ounce) Euro-brown bottle into a shaker pint glass. The neck label pronounces the contents "ALE". A moderate pour brings forth about an inch of bubbly, foamy, golden-white head that recedes quickly, leaving a thin, receding sheen of foam. The color is a pale, ruddy-tinged golden with a splash of green. Moderate carbonation.

Lightly fruity on the nose and palate, with hints of melon and citrus and a good backbone of noble hop bitterness (subtly floral). The malt is lightly caramelly, but with a dry finish and a cleansing, light bitterness. Slight hints of spice and vanilla creep in as it warms.

This was my introduction to this style, and I have to say I rather like it. I would say this particular beer is very smooth, light bodied, and refreshing, like a good lager beer, but with enough yeasty and hoppy complexity to keep it interesting. A good choice for hot weather when you want some flavor too. Well worth the sampling at 4-something for a pint-plus bottle. Keep it up Hennessey Grocery!

Poured from a 22oz. bottle into a shaker pint glass. No bottling date.

A- Pours a crystal clear pale yellow straw with a high fluffy white head.

S- Sweet bready notes, noble hop notes of grass and slight spice.

T- Similar to aroma with nice sweet bready notes and noble hops. Finishes clean and crisp with a nice bready lingering note. Not sure how old this bottle is but there is no off flavors so I would guess it's within reason.

M- Light, crisp, clean, and refreshing. A prefect beer to have with food and on a hot summer day.

O- This is basically a German pilsner but brewed with ale yeast. It has many taste similarities to it's lager counterpart but with a more pronounced fruity note I suspect from the ale yeast. I wish this stuff could be found on more tap lists.
