Another brew samples whilst brewing with my neighbor.

I love the kolsch style, clean , fresh, crisp.

I like it as a summer beard , when properly served, is a favorite go to beer style after cutting the lawn.

Good beer which shall be repeated.

On tap at Brasserie V in Madison, Wisconsin. Proper glassware.

A- Clear golden-straw yellow body. One finger white head with long retention time, just big enough to be presentable but not too big that I can't start drinking the beer without getting a beerstache. Looks clean and refreshing. Nice retention, intermittent rings of lacing. [4.25]

S- Crisp toasted bread, grainy malt sweetness, mineral flavours, slightly fruity yeast esters, mild earth. [4]

F- Crushable. Grainy malt, toasted bread, a bit of honey, a bit of phenolic fruitiness, minerals. Not superbly complex but tasty and drinkable. [4]

M- Medium bodied, no thinness to be detected. Nice carbonation that brings pep to your palate. Crisp, refreshing and a great beer to drink when it's warm out. [4]

O- One of the best examples of a German Kolsch that I've had. It's been a long time since I drank this- it was the last time I visited Cologne several years back- and this takes me back to sitting in my friend's backyard in a slightly damp German summer with a stange glass filled with this stuff. Good times. [4.25]

Final score: 4.09
